The association joins the “Get Off Zero” initiative and explores the possibility of integrating Bitcoin into its balance sheet, with support from Senator Lummis.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol Association (WHPA), a non-profit organization supporting officers, dispatchers, and civilian staff, is evaluating Bitcoin as part of its financial strategy. This initiative is part of a partnership with “Get Off Zero”, an educational program by Proof of Workforce focused on helping unions and pension funds understand Bitcoin.

On February 12, Proof of Workforce founder Dom Bei stated that part of the Bitcoin holdings could be managed via self-custody. He emphasized Bitcoin’s long-term reliability, especially amid fiat currency inflation. If implemented, this could mark the first-ever adoption of Bitcoin by a U.S. law enforcement association. The initiative has received full support from Wyoming Senator Cynthia Lummis, who stated:

“The goal is to help Americans access tools to realize and protect the full value of their effort.”

Austin Bluemel, WHPA’s vice president, confirmed the organization’s interest in exploring Bitcoin as an asset to support its members.
