The tweet from the @satoshi account, dormant for five years, reignites the debate. Former nChain CEO Christen Ager-Hanssen claims it is controlled by Craig Wright.

  • The dormant Twitter account @satoshi is back with a tweet.
  • Christen Ager-Hanssen, former CEO of nChain, links the account’s activity to Craig Wright.
  • Ager-Hanssen renounced his support for Wright, recognised by many as an impostor.

On Monday 2 October 2023, the dormant @satoshi account broke its silence on X, posting its first tweet since 2018.

Among the immediately skeptical comments, many wondered who could be hiding behind a verified account that came back to life out of nowhere. The clues are directly linked to the affairs of Norwegian entrepreneur Christen Ager-Hanssen.

The dispute with Craig Wright

Ager-Hanssen, former CEO of nChain, was until recently considered a staunch supporter of Craig Wright. In recent days he decided to take a step back. He has revised his positions and left nChain, publicly declaring that Wright is not Satoshi.

From his own X profile, referring to the @satoshi profile, Ager-Hanssen wrote that “the account has been taken over by Craig“. The latter has been self-proclaiming himself as Satoshi Nakamoto for about 8 years, in a story that has involved the courts of several countries and led him to be known with the term ‘Faketoshi‘. According to Ager-Hanssen, it is no coincidence that the account has reactivated in the very days when he is debunking Craig Wright. In 2018, the Twitter profile, he writes documenting with a screenshot, belonged to Wright fan Andy Rowe.

Calvin Ayre also withdraws support for Wright?

In another screenshot published by Ager-Hanssen, the entrepreneur shows what he claims is an e-mail dated 26 September from Calvin Ayre, also a long-standing supporter of Craig Wright and backer of his lawsuits.
