Bitdeer’s subsidiary TDC has signed a deal with DCI to convert an existing facility to support Nvidia Vera Rubin technology.
Bitdeer Technologies announced on Monday, March 30, 2026, that it has closed a deal to build Norway’s largest AI data center. The facility will be dedicated “primarily” to supporting next-generation Nvidia Vera Rubin technology, according to an official statement released by the company.
More specifically, Bitdeer’s subsidiary Tydal Data Center AS (TDC) has entered into a contract with Norwegian contractor Data Center Installations AS (DCI) to “build and convert” an existing facility to support the latest Nvidia technology. Once completed, the facility will primarily offer co-location services aimed at AI infrastructure.
Haakon Bryhni, co-founder and chairman of TDC, commented on the deal by stating: “The transformation of our Tydal facility is a cornerstone of Bitdeer’s global strategy to meet the explosive demand for AI data centers. By transforming our existing footprint into large-scale AI deployments, TDC will be at the forefront of the artificial intelligence revolution, while maintaining sustainable, capital-efficient growth and substantial local value creation.”
The agreement is part of a broader strategic transition by Bitdeer, which is progressively moving away from Bitcoin mining to focus on providing computing power and infrastructure to the artificial intelligence sector. The company recently announced that it has zeroed out its corporate Bitcoin treasury, and shortly before that had unveiled a plan to raise $300 million through a private placement of senior convertible notes.
