BitGo integrates the Lightning Network: partnership with Voltage

The collaboration with Voltage will enable instant and low-cost bitcoin transactions for institutional investors.

According to Bitcoin Magazine, digital asset custody firm BitGo has announced a partnership with Voltage to integrate the Lightning Network into its platform. The integration will allow approximately 1,500 institutional clients to carry out faster and more affordable bitcoin transactions directly via API. The collaboration marks the first Lightning Network integration by an institutional custodian.

Mike Belshe, CEO of BitGo, stated:

“Partnering with Voltage to integrate the Lightning Network into our product enhances our ability to provide clients with faster, more cost-effective Bitcoin and stablecoin transactions.”

According to both companies, the integration is expected to accelerate LN adoption among institutional clients, while also laying the groundwork for stablecoin settlement through the Lightning Network.
