The legal case between the non-profit organization COPA and the Australian entrepreneur Craig Steven Wright comes to an end: CSW is not Satoshi Nakamoto.

On March 14th, Judge James Mellor at the English High Court issued the final verdict, declaring that Australian entrepreneur Craig Steven Wright is not Satoshi Nakamoto. The judgment is the result of a legal proceeding initiated by the non-profit organization Crypto Open Patent Alliance (COPA) against Wright.

The concluding stages of the trial began on March 12th. Given the overwhelming evidence against CSW, Judge Mellor decided to announce his preliminary conclusions on some key issues:

Judge: I will prepare a fairly long judgement

I have reached the conclusions the evidence is overwhelming

CSW is not the author of the whitepaper
CSW is not satsohi
CSW is not the creator of Bitcoin
CSW did not author the Bitcoin software

According to the judge’s statement, CSW will have 21 days to file an appeal against the verdict. The full written judgment will be delivered in the coming days.

The reactions from the Bitcoin community

The news has sparked reactions from the Bitcoin community on X (formerly Twitter): numerous posts against CSW and his battle fought over the past years.

Peter McCormack, host of the What Bitcoin Did podcast, stated:

We are all Satoshi, except Craig Wright (who is literally the only person who isn't, confirmed by law) https://t.co/UMHuHPZJi3
