MicroBT unveils the new WhatsMiner M6XS+ series at the Bitcoin 2024 conference: efficiency and sustainability are the goals.
The company specialized in hardware production for mining, MicroBT, presented the new WhatsMiner M6XS+ series at the Bitcoin 2024 conference in Nashville. The new series includes models with air, water, and immersion cooling systems.
Focus on sustainability and efficiency
Dr. Zuoxing Yang, founder and CEO of MicroBT, emphasized the company’s commitment to sustainable and efficient mining practices, highlighting in particular the prospects of mining that utilizes energy from the sun. According to Dr. Yang, by 2026, the cost of electricity for solar mining could drop to about 4 cents per kWh, thus removing one of the main obstacles in the sector.
Advancements in solar mining
MicroBT has made progress in solar mining technology, including the success of a 100 kW pilot project. Dr. Yang announced the launch of a container system for solar mining, inviting industry partners to collaborate to improve knowledge in solar energy-based mining.
Features of the new models
