An iMessage extension enables ecash transfers with an intuitive interface.

On September 23, version 0.4.0 of Macadamia Wallet was released, a Lightning wallet built on the Cashu protocol. The new version introduces an iMessage extension dedicated to Bitcoin ecash payments.

The Cashu protocol is a Chaumian ecash layer built on Bitcoin that enables private Lightning transactions. Macadamia users can now send ecash tokens to other Apple users directly via iMessage.

Sending ecash often involves long strings of characters (similar to sending a Lightning invoice). The iMessage extension introduced by Macadamia Wallet makes it simple to send ecash tokens.

Macadamia Wallet supports essential Cashu operations, including minting tokens, sending and receiving payments, melting tokens to pay Lightning Network invoices, and restoring wallet balances with a 12-word seed phrase backup.
