The non-profit organization brings together companies and industry stakeholders to enhance native tokenization on Bitcoin and Lightning Network.

RGB Protocol Association: this is the name of the non-profit organization based in Switzerland that aims to accelerate the development and adoption of the RGB protocol, a technology for tokenizing assets directly on Bitcoin.

The Association, which announced its establishment today, was born from the need to provide coordinated support to the protocol.

The objective would be to accelerate the development of the RGB ecosystem through financial and strategic support to developers, teams and projects. The plan includes grants, sponsorships, educational initiatives and technical collaborations, with the goal of stimulating progress in sectors such as native DeFi on Bitcoin, tokenization, digital identity and private smart contracts.

“RGB deserved a dedicated channel. I’m proud to participate in the foundation of the RGB Protocol Association as a unified effort to accelerate development and provide stronger support for the protocol,” said Giacomo Zucco, director of Plan ₿ Network and one of the Association’s founding members. “Our aim is to make RGB a key enabler of Bitcoin scalability and privacy through the power of client-side validation.“

“RGB is finally becoming a reality and is set to play a decisive role in the growth of the wider Lightning ecosystem,” said Federico Tenga, R&D Strategist at Bitfinex. “It’s great to have the Association to help to support its growth and see it evolve into a core part of the Bitcoin infrastructure.“

The RGB Protocol Association is configured as a neutral and non-commercial entity, open to participation by individuals and organizations that share the vision of a decentralized infrastructure built on Bitcoin.

The organization can count on support from players from companies such as Bitfinex, Bitmask by Diba, Boosty Labs, Fulgur Ventures, LNFI, Kaleidoswap, Plan B Network, ThunderStack and Tribe RGB.
