On January 17, an unauthorized access occurred on the Trezor Support portal, involving the data of approximately 66,000 users: the details.

After a security breach recorded on January 17, the hardware wallet manufacturer Trezor has initiated an investigation to determine the extent of the incident. The event involved unauthorized access to the company’s support portal, exposing the contact details of approximately 66,000 users who had previously interacted with the Trezor Support service since December 2021. Among the exposed data are the names and email addresses of the users.

Details of the incident

Trezor identified unauthorized access to its support portal at 22:20 UTC on January 17, 2024. The breach occurred on a third-party support portal used by Trezor to assist customers. The company promptly initiated an investigation in close collaboration with its third-party service provider. Users potentially affected by the incident were notified through an official communication.

During the investigation, it was revealed that the attacker contacted 41 users via email, attempting to gain access to the seed phrase of their wallets.

Trezor assured the affected users that their digital assets remain safe and are not impacted by this incident.
