Ex-CEO of nChain backtracks: ‘Craig Wright is not Satoshi’

Hanssen e Craig Wright

Christen Ager-Hanssen, former nChain CEO, accuses the company of fraud and disputes claims of Craig Wright being Satoshi Nakamoto. Ager-Hanssen also accuses billionaire Calvin Ayre of manipulation.

  • Ager-Hanssen’s statement unmask Craig Wright, the self-proclaimed Satoshi Nakamoto.
  • The influential and potentially manipulative role of billionaire Calvin Ayre in nChain resurfaces.

Christen Ager-Hanssen left his position as CEO of nChain. The now-former executive has dismissed the longstanding claims of the company’s Chief Scientist, Craig Wright, that he would be Satoshi Nakamoto, the creator of Bitcoin. Hanssen himself made the announcement on Twitter.

The report about Craig Wright

Within an intricate scenario of accusations, Ager-Hanssen has accused a significant shareholder of the company of having orchestrated a plot intended to defraud nChain’s shareholders. This claim stems from a statement shared with five other employees. From this group, everyone has been dismissed or suspended after the complaint.

The ex-CEO further emphasized these claims, sharing a screenshot – part of a longer report which, Hanssen says, will be published soon – that he claims would show contradictory evidence in Wright’s browsing history, putting into question the same fundamental claim to be Satoshi. In the screenshot Wright accessed an online Q&A asking what software Satoshi Nakamoto used to prepare the White Paper. For Hanssen, Wright asking question about Satoshi would prove that he is not Satoshi.

Ager-Hanssen also announced the intention to release a detailed account of the alleged influences of billionaire Calvin Ayre on nChain. This could shed light on the figure of Ayre, who has always been financially backing Wright in his lawsuits against those who accuse him of being a fraudster. He is also the founder, in 2017, of CoinGeek, a blog that has always supported Wright’s attempt to convince the world of being Satoshi Nakamoto.
