Craig Wright files a £911 billion lawsuit against Bitcoin Core and Square without legal representation: details of the new legal action.

Australian computer scientist Craig Wright has filed a £911 billion and 50 million lawsuit against Bitcoin Core and Squareup Europe Ltd, Jack Dorsey‘s company. According to Wright, the legal action concerns issues related to the integrity of Bitcoin’s design rather than the question of its creator’s identity.

Documents from the High Court of the United Kingdom indicate that on October 11, Wright accused Bitcoin Core and Square of misleadingly representing Bitcoin as the authentic version of the cryptocurrency. Wright acted without a lawyer, asserting that the allegations involve not only the developers of Bitcoin Core but also all related parties.

Details of Wright’s claim

Wright specified that the focus of his lawsuit is not on Nakamoto’s identity, but on the assertion that Bitcoin Core has failed to adhere to the “design principles” originally established for Bitcoin. According to Wright, Bitcoin was meant to function as electronic money for microtransactions without the mediation of central entities, and he has requested that Bitcoin Core demonstrate compliance with these original principles.

Wright indicated that if Bitcoin Core can prove the maintenance of these essential characteristics, he might consider withdrawing the lawsuit.

Last July, Judge Mellor issued an injunction prohibiting CSW from initiating or threatening new legal actions based on the claim of being Satoshi Nakamoto. However, according to BitMEX Research, the new lawsuit filed by CSW appears to come very close to that assertion, as evidenced by certain passages in the documentation. The violation of the injunction could have serious legal consequences, including the possibility of an arrest warrant being issued against him.

Based on the injunctions issued by Justice Mellor in July 2024, CSW is not allowed to commence or threaten legal proceedings, based on the claim that CSW is Satoshi
